Release Date: 2017
Director: Andy Muschietti
Starring: Bill Skarsgård, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff
Plot: A group of kids get tortured by a clown for 2 hours.
Why it’s recommended: One of the best book adaptations I have ever seen and better than the 1990’s version (sorry Tim Curry). The movie that is the source of many people’s fear of clowns, IT combines horror, comedy, and great acting performances into 2 hours of mixed emotions.
Interesting Fact: Skarsgård noticed how his performance was upsetting Jack Dylan Grazer and, when the scene ended, asked if he was okay. Grazer immediately broke character and began complimenting Skarsgård and his performance. Skarsgård was left confused and impressed at Grazer’s attitude, calling the child actors “little professionals”.
Best Line: Richie: “Hey Eddie, are these your birth control pills?”
Eddie: “Yeah, I’m saving them for your sister.”
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 85% Certified Fresh
