Spooptoberfest 2019: Insidious: Chapter 2

Halloween is my favorite holiday. So much so, that I enjoy dedicating the entire month of October to all things horror. Thus I call it, Spooptoberfest: a month-long celebration of all things demonic, paranormal, gory, and scary. Let’s get spoopy.

Why it’s recommended:

Insidious: Chapter 2 holds a special place in my heart as being a film that showcases more of Horror-God James Wan’s masterful work and is filled with twists and moments of lore that cleanly ties-in with its predecessor and honestly could have wrapped up the series. Despite a few being very predictable, the highly effective scares are built-up with excellent use of shadows and stressful tension.

CAUTION:

The performances definitely suffered, some plot choices are very questionable, and my God the cinematography is horrendous.
